Two words the Lord said to me this morning and I know He is preparing me ahead of 2020:
I know of a surety that these words will be useful for some of us too as we approach 2020;
1. Jesus didn’t just go to the wedding at Canaan, He was invited. Jh 2:2
2. Do not cast your pearls before the swine, if you do they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces Matt. 7:6b
Pearls are precious, are of great price and value, Infact it is said that “ pearls are oceans most valuable treasures” and are extremely unique,” they are rare jewels to find . It is no wonder Jesus likened the gospel to pearls that should not be offered to those who will not appreciate it, those who mock it or reject it.
In essence, you are pearls. My dear, I want to tell you that you are a pearl, valuable, you are a treasure, you are a jewel, you are rare, you are one of a kind that needs no further polishing. Don’t give yourself away to just anybody because not every body knows what a pearl is, let alone the value and even what it is for and how to use it.
Now some of you (us) go to places where we are not appreciated, you spend your time with people who don’t appreciate it, you give advise to people who never listen, you give valuable gifts to people who never appreciate it. Your gifts are not used rightly.
The fact is when people don’t know your value they will ABUSE YOU, USE YOU, DISRESPECT YOU, DISHONOUR YOU , I can go on and on. Infact when you give of yourself too much, people take it for granted and assume you have nothing to do with your time, hence they maltreat you and treat you like you don’t matter. You give yourself too cheaply to people, and in turn they undervalue you.
”When the purpose of a thing is not known ABUSE IS INEVITABLE. “ See when people don’t know who you are and don’t know your purpose, there is bound to be a misuse of what you have to offer. At times people even think they have a sense of entitlement to your life, time and whatever you have to offer.
Listen to me, as you go into 2020, decide not to give your pearl to those who will not value you.
In all areas of life, choose to move with those will will appreciate you and even inspire you to do better that you are doing.
Choose intentionally to move with those who see good in you and see what you have to offer as relevant.
Choose to move with those who understand your purpose and help you accomplish it.
Choose to be in an environment that motivates you and not bring you down.
Choose to give of yourself to those who will not use you and dump you.
Choose to set proper boundaries so that they understand that your time is valuable.
Choose to respect yourself, never be involved in issues you are not invited into, never allow anyone take you for granted too.
Choose not to force yourself on people, if you do, you are abusing yourself and allowing people abuse you.
Even if you are not there yet, carry yourself with grace and never allow anyone underrate your capability or ability.
Now, you must intentionally move away from people who think you have nothing to offer.
Intentionally stay away from people who only call you when they need you ( misuse of your time).
Intentionally cut people who step on you and trample over you.
In these remaining days in 2019; start doing a check and allow the Holy Spirit guide you in choosing where you ought to be and those/ what you have to let go off.
2020; is a year of the overflow and if you must overflow, there are certain decisions you have to take and make.
Blessings as we look forward to the year 2020: super excited because I know that I will not be the same again. I will move forward and overflow in all that I lay my hands on and I pray same for you all.
