DID YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME? DID CIRCUMSTANCE CHANGE YOUR NAME!!

I heard the word MARAH and again the Lord took me back in time to 2 Kings 2: 19-End

MARAH was a name Naomi chose to call herself in the book of Ruth chap 1 after she had lost her entire family ( You see that family left Bethlehem; a house Of bread to go to Moab ; a nation the Lord has instructed them against because of a temporary famine). Naomi: pleasantness was changed to MARAH; bitterness. Huh!!

MARAH means : Unproductive, unfruitful, bitter. It means untimely birth, miscarriages . The land was actually said to be “ apt to miscarry.”

2 Kings 2: 19One day the leaders of the town of Jericho visited Elisha. “We have a problem, my lord,” they told him. “This town is located in pleasant surroundings, as you can see. But the water is bad, and the land is unproductive.”

Now this land in itself was pleasant but the water was bitter which made the land unfruitful.

Now afterwards Elisha ( this was actually his first miracle after receiving the double portion) told them to bring a clean bowl with salt and poured it into the foundation of the stream.

Now there was a problem with the foundation of the stream.

Jericho as a city is beautiful, and was situated in a vantage position. If we remember Jericho was part of the land given as inheritance to the children of Isreal .
Now the Bible says if the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do. Ps 11:13

The Bible also says in Isaiah that God will rebuild faulty foundations of those who have been afflicted. Isaiah 54:11

A beautiful city turned sour because of water that was flowing into it.

Salt in itself is for purification and if we also remember salt was used severally as part of requirements for most offerings in the book of Leviticus.

Infact the Bible recorded that God made a covenant of salt with David; meaning a perpetual and preserved covenant (2 Chron 3:15).
