The heart is the most important part of the body, it is from there that we receive the oxygen and nutrients that we need for our bodies to function maximally and wholly. The heart is extremely important because it is where life flows to other parts of the body, we all know that without the flow of blood from our hearts to our body there will be no life. It is no wonder God attaches so much importance to the heart too and He even declares that from our hearts proceeds the issues of life Prov 4:23, Jer 17:9. In our lesson today, we will see and understand more what God is looking for.
WHAT DID SAMUEL SEE IN THE SONS OF JESSE?
Appearance: Handsome and of good countenance:
Stature: Tall and graceful
Just like Saul when he was chosen
The fact is it is not that the other sons of Jesse were bad but none of was God’s chosen. Our natural instinct is to judge on what we see.
WHAT DID GOD SEE IN DAVID?
His servant . Ps 89:20
A man after His heart. Acts 13:22
A man who will perform all His good pleasure. Acts13:22
A man He could trust:
A man of integrity. Ps 78:71-72,2 Sam 11: 1-27,1 Sam 24:1-22
A man willing to put God first. 1 Sam 17:1-54
A man of reverence and worship. 2 Sam 24:18-25
A man of humility. 2 Sam 24:18- 25
A man with a contrite heart. Ps 51:10
THE QUESTION IS: WHAT WILL HE FIND IN YOUR HEART WHEN HE SEARCHES IT? Jer 17:10 , Ps 139:23, 26:2, 19:14
Love, forgiveness, humility, patience, selflessness ,integrity , sacrifice, gratitude or a contrite heart.

Bitterness, anger, forgiveness, selfishness, hatred, lack of self-control,malice or pride
