JOHN 9-1-12
Today we are looking at what happens to a child of God when God favours him or her. When you receive God’s favour you the order of things are overturned, every protocol is by- passed and you become a marvel for everybody that hears about it. Mary was favoured among the virgins of her time and she brought forth our Lord Jesus Christ, the widow of Zarephath was favoured when Prophet Elijah was sent to her and she never lacked.
The story we are looking at today as the one of God’s favour on a blind man as recorded in Jh 9:1-12.
It is my prayers that all of you will receive God’s favour all the days of your lives in Jesus name.
THE BLIND MAN IN OUR PASSAGE TODAY:
Was blind from birth, he was a beggar, waiting by the gate of the temple.
This was neither he sinned nor his parents sinned
This happened to him so that the work of God will be revealed in him.
He neither knew Jesus or ever met Him before
He did not even ask Jesus to heal him, he just received favor
He did not even know where Jesus resided
He concluded that Jesus was a prophet
WHEN YOU RECEIVE GOD’S FAVOR:
You get supernatural increase and favour – Gen 31
You get restoration -Ex 3:21
You get honor in the midst of adversaries- Ex 11:3
You get increased assets – Deut 33:23
You get great and unusual victory – Josh 10:7-10
You get recognition leading to promotion -2 Sam 6:9-11
You get preferential treatment -Esther 5:8
Your petitions are granted even by ungodly authorities -Neh 2:1-9
Rules and regulations will change – Esther 8:5
Battles will be won because God will fight your battles- Ps 44:1-3
In conclusion Prov 19:12 says “The king’s wrath is like roaring of a lion but hi favour is like dew on the grass”. May we all receive God’s
in Jesus name.
